Quilt Pattern Soda Mug

55.00

A wheel-thrown mug from my most recent Soda firing, this mug has Quilt patterned mono-print on all sides of the mug. Measuring about 4.5” tall and 3.5” wide, this mug holds a generous 16 oz of the beverage of your choice.

Soda firing is an atmospheric firing technique where “soda” is introduced into the kiln near top temperature (2350°, ∆10). The soda vaporizes and is carried on the flame throughout the kiln. The soda vapors create a glaze when it lands on a piece (or a kiln post, or the wall of the kiln). Wherever the flame travels- so does the soda. The results in the Soda kiln can’t be recreated and each piece is one of a kind.
