Japanese Print Short Mug

50.00

Please note this is for the short mug on the right, with the circle prints- this little wheel-thrown mug holds about 6 oz of liquid and is a great little coffee mug from my recent soda/salt firing.

Soda/Salt firing is an atmospheric firing technique where Sodium Bicarbonate and Salt is introduced into the kiln near top temperature (2350°, ∆10). The soda/salt vaporizes and is carried on the flame throughout the kiln. The soda vapors create a glaze when it lands on a piece (or a kiln post, or the wall of the kiln). Wherever the flame travels- so does the soda. The results in the Soda kiln can’t be recreated and each piece is one of a kind.
