My favourite shade of greens, these floral and herb inspired drawings are really beautiful on a wheel-thrown stoneware mug. Fired in a Soda kiln, each one is a tall sized mug is uniquely patterned with a flower or herb design in a custom screen-printed monoprint. Each mug holds 16 oz of fluid.
Wheel-thrown, trimmed with a foot and fired in the Soda kiln, these small printed floral stoneware mugs are each unique in their pattern and size. Meant for a double espresso or macchiato, the larger cup holds holds 10 oz of liquid, the smaller, 8 oz. Lovely to hold and use, I enjoy using them every morning with my home espresso machine.
I have a new Tulip print that I have been working on in the studio! Shown in a few different ways, alternating and collaged with patterns, these 3 mugs have been fired in the soda kiln. Each one holds about 16 oz of liquid and are about 4.5” tall.
With a porcelain Slip arch and a papercut flower pattern, each soda fired mug is one of a kind! As my ‘tall mug size’ they hold about 16 oz of liquid. Wheel-thrown and fired in a soda kiln!
It was hard to pick a favourite from my most recent Soda-firing, but this teapot is probably the one. Surprisingly light with a well-fitted lid, a great pour and comfortable handle this teapot holds a generous amount of tea. The contrast of the stoneware clay and the curved porcelain arch is highlighted by the horizon line of the glaze meeting the bare clay. Further reacting with the Soda in an atmospheric kiln, there are hints of carbon trapping, pinks, yellows, copper looking speckles and greens. It is truly a one of a kind teapot, worthy of the finest brew of teas.
This grouping of soda fired mugs showcases floral prints from a drawing. These medium floral mugs hold 14 oz of liquid. Great for tea or a nice amount of coffee, each mug has been wheel-thrown and monoprinted using my own inks and slip transfer method. Fired in the Soda kiln, they are one of a kind. The faded florals were blasted by the soda and are less visible as a distinct pattern.
Wheel-thrown with a generous handle, each patterned medium mug sits about 3.5” tall and holds 14 oz of liquid, perfect for a nice cup of tea or coffee. Sunrise mug features a monoprint sun pattern on both sides with some areas faded during the firing. The green vase mug has a print on both sides of cut out vase patterns and their inversions. Both were monoprinted using custom drawings and screenprinted designs. In a Soda kiln, there are beautiful toasty places depending where they were sitting in the kiln.
This Soda-Fired Fluted Vase is a round vase with a checked pattern glazed on it. Wheel-thrown, Partly dipped in a white matte glaze, the bottom of the vase reacted with the Soda in an atmospheric kiln to create a beautiful range of toasty colours with soft greys, toasty oranges and subtle pinks. Muted and minimal this vase sits 8.5” tallx 8” wide. One of a kind.
The Soda-fired Patchwork mug is a wheel-thrown mug with a comfortable handle. Featuring a collaged patchwork print in metalic black, this mug holds a generous 14-16 oz of liquid.
I handbuilt a small batch of mugs using my impressed pattern technique. Here are 2 from my most recent soda firing, the impressed pattern on them creates lovely lines and patterns for the soda and glaze to break over. They hold 14 and 16 oz of fluid.
