This Soda-Fired Fluted Vase is a curvy new take on the fluted vessels I have been making. Wheel-thrown and hand-carved, porcelain slip was added to soften the carved lines and then the slip was carved away to reveal an alternating fluted pattern. Partly dipped in a white matte glaze, the bottom of the vase reacted with the Soda in an atmospheric kiln to create a beautiful range of toasty colours with soft greys. Muted and minimal this vase sits 9” tall. One of a kind.
